Gifts
Your presence at our wedding was the only gift we request.
We are fortunate to have a wonderful life, be in good health and be surrounded by dear friends and family. On this most happy occasion, we wanted to support those not as fortunate as ourselves. In lieu of physical gifts to us, if you really want to give us a gift (which again, you do not have to), you can donate to organizations that are doing work that is important to us.
We have loving families who enthusiastically support us in our marriage. We were able to get married legally after taking a short train ride. New York State will recognize that marriage. Simon had a job that allowed him to obtain a green card, so we are not forced to live apart from each other. Countless thousands more couples in the United States are not so lucky. In honor of our special day, we want to support fairness and equality in the eyes of the law for all loving couples. Freedom to Marry is a partnership working to win marriage equality nationwide. Their website has excellent, clear information on this important issue. You can give a gift to Freedom to Marry in our name at the site below (though the site is only set up to accept donations from people with a US credit card billing address).

We should not forget that HIV/AIDS continues to impact the lives of people in horrible ways the world over. We have long supported Classical Action in their tireless effort to raise money to help those who have been impacted by the AIDS epidemic. You can make a donation to Classical Action in our name at:

Click on the link at the top of the page, then indicate our names in the “Honoree Name” field. The Classical Action site is able to accept donations from those residing outside the US.
If you feel strongly that you need to get us a physical gift (and again, really, you don’t), we do have a big wine cellar that has more empty space in it than wine.
